The blessed one was NOT a foolish young prince, as taught for many years through the incident of seeing the four great omens.
In this “Sukumāla Sutta (A Delicate Lifestyle)” it is clearly saying that prince has seen the second omen of a sick being from the very beginning by seeing at the sick people around him at the kingdom. The same sutta also explained how the prince’s father King Suddhodhana facilitate him with the most luxurious lifestyle ever and how the prince, even as a teenager, didn’t fall for them from the beginning. This shows how wise he was and also shows the level of wisdom of a person who is about to be enlightened and cease the existence. Just think about, how practical is to keep every being look young in a kingdom?
According to the story, every being look healthy in the kingdom? Sickness was hidden. The whole life story was interpreted like a movie. Coz only in movies we can have those time leaps. But in real life, there are many things happening in every single minute. There are loads of thoughts come across in each second. So, it’s not practical to be healthy and not showing a single symptom for years. Not even for the prince. How can a young Prince, in other words “young boy” keep hidden for the real world? A price is not just educated with the fighting skills?
It’s really sad to see how people makes such stories so convincingly, that others believe too how dumb was the wisest being on universe can be as a kid. This again shows how majority of people are not aware of the truth which is even visible to us. This shows how the majority are truly delusional.
The prince Siddhartha always thinking about the meaninglessness in the existence and always curious for an answer. Many suttas reflect this nature of the prince in many ways. It’s natural to question others to check whether their observations are same as mine, when you observe something deeper. This is what happened with the Channa the charioteer too!
