Never-ending Bonds

So, why I’m discussing it with you in this editorial? Let me share it with you all the reason and how it related to the path of Nibbana!

Even though the real black magic practitioners are lesser in modern society, we still can find their evil work in modern society too.  In my life, I have come across many victims of black magic too.  It’s sometimes surprising how ignorance can be people to do such evil things to another human being.  When someone doesn’t fall for you, what use of forcing that person to fall for you by using demonic powers?  When someone doesn’t listen to you what use of forcing that person to listen to you and take control of that person by using evil spells? 

This is the case of delusion.  When you are delusional… not aware of the truth, you believe you are the one… you own things and you want things to be in your control.  This is how even black magic sort of evil methods introduced to this existence.  A delusional mind can be so creative to find any kind of method and basically the most vicious weapon in this whole world. By unknown to the consequences the practitioners of black magic support those who seeks of black magic support.

There is a story about Noble Disciple Ven. Ananda being attracted to a woman who did a spell.  Story says how a black magic practitioner wanted to have Ven. Ananda as her lover and unknown to the fact, once Ven. Ananada drank some water from her.  After drinking water Ven. Ananda also felt affection towards to the woman and by seeing that Samma Sambuddha saved and release Ven. Ananda from the spell.  Although the story cannot be found in the Theravāda scriptures the chanting used to release Ven. Ananda has become a very popular protection chanting among most of the people.  It is named “Jalanandana paritta” and known for ceasing any powerful mantras or all type of negative effects which are created by black magic.  The message inside the Paritta is beautiful though as it says “By the power of Samma Sambuddha’s truthfulness, may all kind of bond including black magic effects should destroy”.

Because in this samsara we do black magic and we get caught in to the black magic because of the unawareness.  Our own defilements are the root to become a victim too.  As long as we are not fully enlightened Arhant, we have the potential of being a victim.  It can be sometimes mentally like the affection arise towards the woman in noble disciple Ven. Ananda as the story says, or sometimes can be physical like they can be leads to serious diseases or illness even like cancers sometimes. 

Sometimes parents give certain food or drinks with these black magic spell to their own kids by believing that they will be in their control.  Little that they don’t know is that they poisoned their own children by the name of saving or protecting them.  Most of the time later in their age they become cancer victims, paralyzed victims or mentally ill persons.  But their blindness won’t believe that they cause this to them.

Samma Sambuddha explains how majority of ordinary being whom are not interested in truth, bound by the ignorance and leads themselves and others to destruction in various ways. “They’re called an unlearned ordinary person who is bound to five aggregates named form (Rūpa), feeling (Vedanā), perception (sañña), fabrication (Saṅkhāra), consciousness (viññāṇa), inside and out. They see neither the near shore nor the far shore. They’re born in bonds and die in bonds, and in bonds they go from this world to the next. 

So, my dear dhamma friends sometimes you may also become a victim of these black magic activities.  But like in the story of noble disciple Ven. Ananda, the protection of Samma Sambuddha is still with you. A true practitioner will always work to cease all kind of bonds so, none of the bonds are powerful enough to make them trapped in this existence.  Even they become sick and physically damaged through these actions of blind ones, they will only share the compassion towards to the one who did to them.  Because they are aware of the karmic connections and how Cause & Effect works and also how a deluded mind can work when they are not aware of the truth or real nature or danger of existence. 

So, all you have to do is to become a true practitioner of the noble path. Then all you experience is the magic of noble triple gem only.  You can experience how you are guided through all these obstacles so magically.  Make sure you are focus to yourself.  Make sure not to be become a weapon to all beings including your own self!  Try to become a true well-wisher not a control freak whom blindly believe that you can control everything & everyone whom around you.  These simple conscious actions will make you a better compassionate human being as well as a real truth seeker some day!  By cultivating compassionate good qualities, you can save yourself by becoming a black magic practitioner or seeker of black magic support or the victim!

So, indeed my dear dhamma friends, “By the power of Samma Sambuddha’s truthfulness, may all kind of bond including black magic effects should destroy”. May all beings be freed from the bond of ignorance… May all beings be freed from the bond of deluded mind… May all being be freed from the trap of Samsara!
